Wildlife and Forestry
Early buildings in the area were made from unsquared logs, with peat moss and mud filling the gaps—constructed entirely by hand. As demand for lumber grew, steam-powered sawmills were soon established. The Hines Creek area, rich in wildlife thanks to its boreal forests, is showcased in a display featuring over 60 taxidermized birds and animals collected and prepared by Wilbert Hoffman. There is also a display of the taxidermy process.
