Pohaboff House
Martha Pohaboff, born in a Siberian village, lost her first husband in the 1917 Russian Revolution. She fled to Harbin, China, where she worked as a waitress and later married John Pohaboff. In 1928, they homesteaded south of Hines Creek. This house reflects the style of early settler homes, which replaced their original 12'x14' log cabin. Its walls feature the lathe and plaster method, using local mud and straw—once finished to a smooth surface.
